After completing her medical degree and internship focusing on obstetrics, Dr. Gayathri Kosaka has pursued a career dedicated to women’s health. She moved to Australia after her internship, alongside her husband, and has since honed her skills and expertise in obstetrics and general practice for over 12 years.

Dr. Kosaka’s journey into women’s health began at the young age of 12, when she assisted with a birth in a village. This early experience ignited a lifelong passion for empowering women through various stages of their lives. She has undergone extensive training in Australia, practicing as a GP obstetrician and providing compassionate care to her patients.

Dr. Gayathri Kosaka practiced at Griffith, where she consistently supported and empowered women with her specialised knowledge and unwavering dedication. A proud mother of two wonderful children, she deeply values her family life, finding a harmonious balance between her professional commitments and personal joys.

Outside of her medical career, Dr. Kosaka enjoys an active lifestyle that includes bush walking, cycling, and playing badminton. These activities provide a well-rounded balance to her professional and personal life, reflecting her commitment to both her career and her family.

Achievements in Women’s Health

Dr. Kosaka significantly improved the cervical screening rate to 80% in Griffith. This notable achievement was recognized and appreciated by the local pathology services
Dr. Kosaka has been instrumental in providing comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care, working alongside the local hospital to share the workload.
In partnership with the Tresillian service, Dr. Kosaka has actively supported perinatal mental health initiatives, offering critical mental health care and resources to new and expecting mothers.
