MBBS, FRACGP
Moonee Ponds Medical & Dental Centre - Moonee Ponds
Dr Sahar Iqbal is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) with a special interest in women’s health, preventative medicine, and child and adolescent mental health. After completing her medical degree and internship, she moved to Australia in 2014 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2021. She is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that supports women through every stage of life.
Dr Iqbal is passionate about women’s health because she understands that many women prioritise the needs of others before their own. She strives to create a welcoming and respectful environment where women feel listened to, their experiences are validated, and they are empowered to make informed decisions about their health. Her approach is centred on shared decision-making and personalised care, with clinical interests including contraception, cervical screening, menstrual concerns, pregnancy care, menopause, sexual health, and preventative healthcare.
Outside of medicine, Dr Iqbal enjoys meaningful conversations, reflecting on the simple moments in life, spending time in nature, and travelling. She is a proud mother to her teenage daughter and shares her home with a much-loved cat. Spending quality time with family and friends is an important part of maintaining the balance and wellbeing that she encourages in her patients.
