Dr Thandar san

Dr. Thandar San graduated from Myanmar in 2013 and commenced practice in Australia in 2016. Her motivation to become a GP stems from her desire to provide comprehensive care to patients, addressing their physical, psychological, and social needs. She obtained her fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2020.

Women’s health presents unique challenges. From puberty to menopause, hormonal changes can significantly impact everyday life. Dr. Thandar San is committed to empowering women to understand and address these changes, ensuring they do not suffer in silence. She finds it rewarding to educate women about their health and support them throughout their journey. As a GP, she considers it an honor to provide this essential service in women’s health.

Outside of work, Dr. Thandar San enjoys spending time with her family and exploring new recipes through cooking and baking.

Achievements in Women’s Health

Witnessing the improvement in their symptoms and the quality of care in women’s health, and being able to be part of their journey, is something that makes me most proud and motivates me to focus on women’s health.

Primary care serves as the initial contact for women. Through opportunistic screening for women's health, I've come to realise the significance of initiating conversations as a medical practitioner. Many women require support but may not know where to begin. Working in a primary care setting provides me with the opportunity to guide them toward the help they need.
