Dr Sophi Roy
MBBS MD (Paed) FRACGP
Charlestown Medical & Dental Centre - Charlestown
Dr Sophi completed her medical degree at Mahatma Gandhi University in India before pursuing postgraduate studies in Paediatrics at the prestigious Manipal Academy of Higher Education. After moving to Australia, she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2005 and has been serving the Charlestown community ever since.
With a strong passion for women’s health, Dr Sophi believes that “women are the backbone of families and communities,” and that investing in their health and wellbeing has a ripple effect on those around them. Her approach to care is centred on respect, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping women feel empowered in managing their health at every stage of life.
Dr Sophi is acutely aware of the barriers many women face in accessing healthcare. She values the pivotal role of primary healthcare providers in bridging these gaps and is proud to be part of this essential work, supporting women to feel heard, validated, and cared for.
Outside of medicine, Dr Sophi enjoys a full and creative life. She is a proud mother of two and loves spending time with her children and her much-loved fur-kids. At home, she can often be found cooking, gardening, or decorating, and she also enjoys travelling and discovering new experiences with her family.
