Dr Wendy Knoops is an experienced GP with more than 20 years of clinical experience and a specialist interest in women’s health. She has undertaken advanced menopause training with the British Menopause Society and has spent much of her career in the UK, working across NHS Scotland and private women’s health clinics.
After beginning her career in General Practice, Dr Knoops specialised in Sexual and Reproductive Health, spending almost 15 years supporting women with complex contraception, reproductive health and abortion care. Her clinical interests have since expanded to include menstrual and hormonal health, pelvic health, perimenopause and menopause.
Dr Knoops is passionate about providing holistic, individualised and evidence-based care. She believes women should have the time and space to discuss their concerns, understand what is happening to their bodies and make informed decisions about their health.
Throughout her career, Dr Knoops has also contributed to the development and leadership of women’s health services and medical education. She has taught undergraduate and postgraduate clinicians and worked with the University of Aberdeen and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. She has also contributed to digital health and community initiatives, including her work as Chief Medical Officer of HEAL Health and with The Menopause Consortium.
Outside of medicine, Dr Knoops enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, discovering great food and spending time with animals.
