Completing her medical degree in 2003 from the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, Dr Brenda’s early career involved delivering babies and performing minor gynaecological surgeries in rural South Africa, which sparked her passion for women’s health.
As her professional journey continued in the United Kingdom, Dr Brenda worked across general practice, accident and emergency, and mental health services. In London, Dr Brenda earned her Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology through the Royal College and went on to become a partner in a GP practice for ten years, before making the daring move to Australia, prompted by a desire for sunnier skies.
Having worked in regional Queensland for the past four years, Dr Brenda has attained her Australian GP Fellowship, achieving distinction as the recipient of the Mary Mahoney Memorial Prize for the top exam candidate in Queensland.
Dr Brenda’s passion for women’s health revolves around collaborating with women to optimise their physical and mental well-being through proactive health measures.
Outside of medicine, Dr Brenda can be found enjoying time with her family, doing Pilates and buying makeup.
