Maria Bravo Aguilera is a psychologist with a strong interest in women’s mental health, supporting women through life transitions, emotional challenges and changes in their physical and psychological wellbeing. Originally from Spain, Maria completed her psychology degree at the University of Barcelona, followed by a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, before moving to Australia over 10 years ago.
Maria began her career working in an inpatient unit supporting healthcare professionals experiencing substance use disorders and mental health concerns. She has since gained extensive experience in drug and alcohol treatment in Australia. She is currently completing a PhD at the University of Tasmania, focusing on developing clinical software to support psychological interventions for emotional regulation and executive functioning difficulties.
Passionate about women’s health, Maria supports women navigating pregnancy, motherhood, trauma, anxiety, depression and significant life changes. Her own experience of becoming a mother has deepened her understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges women may experience. She aims to create a safe, respectful and supportive environment where women feel heard, understood and empowered to make informed decisions about their mental health.
Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending time with her child, exploring the outdoors, hiking, travelling and cooking with family and friends. She particularly enjoys discovering new cultures and experiences.
